Light
This week’s creative prompt is Light. Mix some paint then go light on color. Or make something light in weight. Or write something that is light on details. Or illustrate who is the light of your life. As always, interpret this week’s topic as you wish.
I know that the sun is a common theme for light...BUT...I live in upstate NY where the winters are very long and gray...I try like crazy to keep my creative juices flowing, and I usually do pretty well...BUT when the sun comes..oh, when the rays of sun are abundant...I have so many ideas, so many creative ah-ha moments..so much to do. Now, because it is sunny out, I should be out enjoying it, but instead I stay in my studio most of the day, (I do allow breaks, and lunch!! LOL) and even if I am outside, I am looking at an art magazine, I have my sketch book close at hand, and I am dreaming of what I will be creating next! SO the sun, shines and I am in the light of creativity. So for this prompt...I HONOR the SUN!
Artfully Yours,
Pattie

Patti it seems we really do think alike! You sure do your part to light up NY!
I like the colors you used. I live in a really gray place too, it's good to remember the sun!
The sun sparks so much life and energy, it is no wonder why you resonate with it so much. I, too, love the sun and try to spend at least a half and hour outside. I live in Cali so I am blessed. I love the whimsy face you created as it is very friendly and warm.
the sun is hiding behind grey clouds this summer so its lovely to see your painting!
fun and light hearted... the sun with wind blowing through it's hair

Patti, you never fail to inspire me. This is wonderful!
Hi Pattie! Absolutely brilliant. I need my sunglasses just to look at it. Thanks also for the nice comments on the blog... it's very encouraging indeed.
A sunny and warm thank you for all who have left a comment!! I appreciate it!
Hi Patti...have to admit i'm not a sun lover, but your illustration is too cheery to resist...your lovely smiling sun looks so gentle hearted...and light!
Patti, I live up north, too, so I totally relate to how the sun can totally light up the creative well in the summer. Winter is just such a hard time, but now you have this gorgeous sun with its upbeat happy colors to cheer you up during those cold, grey days of winter!
thanks for your participation at IMT!
